The Weekly Round-Up

What's Happening in the Clintonville, Shawano and Surrounding Areas

By Marie Vandenberg, Publisher/Editor Macaroni Kid Clintonville, WI July 31, 2021

I mentioned last week that I was having some Mom-Guilt over not spending enough time with my kids this summer, so we decided to "run away" for a little while.  We took advantage of the Kids Free admission at EAA.  We ended up going twice because we had picked Wednesday- so the night show had been canceled so we got to try again on Thursday.  My kids preferred the night show over the daytime show, so that's something I'm going to remember for next year.

We also had to go to the Clintonville Sidewalk Sales.  The end-of-summer sidewalk sales is something that I look forward to since I was my kids' ages.  It definitely looks a little different than from when I was a kid, but the deals are still nice and it's great catching up with classmates that you haven't been able to see all summer.  There is still one day left!  I stopped into A to Z Signs and Design for the first time.  You really can't beat t-shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, masks and so much more for $10 and under!  Back-to-School Shopping isn't the same without a brand-new pair of shoes and of course, B & H Footwear had the "perfect" pair for each of my kids.

For our weekend top picks, my family is really looking forward to going to Embarrass Fun Daze.  If there's a parade, my kids are all in!   The Bergsbaken Farms Sunflower Fest has also quickly become a family tradition.  My kids will even tolerate the insane amount of photos I take of them.  I know we always get re-stocked on our popcorn when we go.

Next week is the Annual National Night Out Against Crime.  Both Marion and Shawano have some very cool events planned for our local families.  Both will offer incredible opportunities to meet the people who help keep our communities safe, while also having a ton of fun getting together with friends and neighbors.  Fireworks, bounce-houses, tours of emergency vehicles and so much more.

Packers Family Night and St Mary's Kraut Fest are both happening next weekend too.  We are constantly adding more events to the Family Fun Calendar!  If these events don't speak to your family, feel free to head out to the calendar to see what else is happening!  Check back frequently! If you're not signed up for the weekly newsletter, August would be an awesome month to sign up.  As a thank you to our subscribers, MacaroniKid and CertifiKID will be offering a year-long subscription to People magazine for FREE!  It's only for subscribers and the sign-up for it will be for 24-hours only!  Watch your e-mail for details and for the sign-up date.

I hope you all are able to find some time for your Family Fun!  I'm putting the finishing touches on the back-to-school guide.  Be sure to check out the incredible deals that Ibotta is offering for all families!  Make it a great week and maybe we'll see you out and about!
