The Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for Christmas Week. The annual Christmas parade is scheduled for Monday, December 2nd at 6:00 p.m. with the theme “One Shining Star.”

We are searching for both lit and non-lit parade entries; music on the float is optional. If your business, 4-H group, non-profit, or family would like to be in the parade, call the Chamber office at 715-823-4606 or email us at administrativeassistant@clintonvillewichamber.com. We will need to know the name of the group, lit or non-lit, with or without music, and contact information. No entry is to have Santa or Mrs. Claus on it as the Chamber has already taken care of this. Also, the group or business name should be visible on the entry so the judges will know who it is. Parade entries will be accepted through Friday, November 22nd, 2:00 p.m. The Chamber office will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 28th and 29th for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Judging will be done prior to the beginning of the parade. Any group or business that would like to have their entry judged will need to be in the line-up no later than 5:30 p.m. Any entries after 5:30 p.m. are welcome but will not be judged. A lineup schedule will be emailed to all entries Monday, November 25th. The parade will run from 11th street to 5th street. All entries should enter on Memorial Circle with line-up done as they arrive. Chamber Bucks will be awarded in two categories: business and non-profit. Judging criteria will include: Execution of Parade Theme, Visual Effect/Inspiring/Creativity, Light Enhancement, and Overall Visual Effect.

The Clintonville Fire Department will again be collecting non-perishable items for the Food Pantry. The Firemen will be dressed in their gear pushing shopping carts in the parade to collect donations. Please bring a food item to help the Clintonville Fire Department “Extinguish Hunger.” If you are a business along the parade route and would be interested in being a collection location in November prior to the parade please contact the Chamber Office at 715-823-4606 by Friday, November 8th. The firemen will stop at your store during the parade and gather any items the community has donated.

Letters to Santa will be starting on Monday, November 25th.

Children are urged to write their Letters to Santa at the North Pole. The North Pole Express mailbox will be available from Monday, November 25th until Friday, December 6th, at 2 p.m. For a reply to your letter, please include first and last name and an address. The North Pole Express Mailbox is located by the Community Center on the corner of Main and Tenth Streets.

We are bringing back the Christmas Medallion! The search will begin on Monday, November 25th, 9:15 a.m. The first clue will be displayed on the window of the Chamber of Commerce office at 1 S. Main Street. Each Monday for four weeks another clue will be given with the last clue being published on December 16th. Only one medallion is placed within Clintonville city limits, not found indoors and there can only be one winner. The person who finds the medallion must bring it to our office no later than Friday, December 20th, 2:00 p.m.

Upon returning the medallion they will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks.

The 2nd Annual Community Tree lighting ceremony will be Friday, December 6th, at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Santa Meet and Greet until 7:15 p.m. at First State Bank. The Tree Lighting ceremony will be held right outside of First State Bank. The ceremony will be led by the Mayor. Come and enjoy some fresh popcorn during the ceremony sponsored by Kelly Trebus – State Farm Insurance. Following the Tree Lighting ceremony, the children are invited to visit with Santa inside First State Bank. A hot chocolate bar and cookies will be served and there will be fun activities for the kids. New this year, Appeal Digital Image & Design will be on hand for pictures with Santa! Get your digital image for $10. All children who come to see Santa will receive a gift bag after their visit. Mark your calendars; this will be a night full of fun for the whole family. Jeremy’s Tree Service has partnered with the Chamber to raise funds for all of the Clintonville School lunch accounts that have fallen behind with funds. Jeremy’s Tree Service will match every dollar donated up to $2000 on the night of the Tree Lighting and Santa Meet and Greet to help end hunger in our schools.
