Clintonville Fall Frenzy 1st Annual 5K

Help the Fearless Females, WiseGuys and No Boundaries Nutrition kick off the Fall Frenzy

By Marie Vandenberg, Publisher/Editor Macaroni Kid Clintonville, WI August 28, 2021

For the first year ever, Clintonville will have a 5K to kick off the shopping at Fall Frenzy!  I rounded up some of the most frequently asked questions to help you decide if this is the right 5K for you.  As someone who has only ever walked one 5K, but participates in the Veteran Ruck March every year, I asked some veteran 5K-ers and a few other newbies to be sure that we answered most of your questions.

Q)  Who can participate?

A) All are welcome.  Feel free to run, walk or volunteer! Bring your kids, strollers/wagons and dogs.  Come join us Rain or Shine!

Q) I’ve never participated in a 5K before.  What do I need to know?

A) Have fun and follow the designated route (there will be people at all major intersections directing our racers).

Q) How challenging will this be for first-timers?

A) It should be a great first time 5K - a fairly flat race route.

Q)  Will there be water stations?

A) Yes

Q) Where will the first aid stations be located?

A) At the Start/Finish Line

Q)  Will booth vendors have time to do both? The 5k and be back in time for the start of the event at 9am including setup?

A) It all depends on how fast they run. The average 5K probably takes someone between 30-50 minutes

Q)  Is this a fundraiser?  If yes, what will the money be used for?

A) Yes. Proceeds are to help the youth programs Wise Guys and Fearless Females at Clintonville Middle School

Q)  Are there prizes?

A) This will not be a timed race; however, everyone who registers and participates will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tennis shoes or gift certificate valued at $100 to B&H Footwear.  Thank you B&H Footwear for the very generous donation.

Q) Where does the race start and end?

A) The race starts and ends at the pavilion in Olen Park

Q)  How much does it cost to sign up?

  • Fearless Female/Wise Guy Members $10
  • Runner/Walker $20 or $15 each with 3 or more registrations from the same family/household
  • Late Registration $25, (t-shirt not guaranteed)
  • Volunteer with t-shirt $10
  • Volunteer with no t-shirt FREE
  • Sponsor a Fearless Female or Wise Guy $10

Q)  Is there a group rate for groups that aren’t related by blood or household?

A) No

Q)  When is Registration?

A) Registration has already begun.  Register between now and  September 10 to be guaranteed a t-shirt however registration will still be accepted on race day.

Q)  How do you sign up?

A) Return form and payment to Clintonville Middle School (255 N Main St Clintonville WI 54929) Clintonville Chamber of Commerce (1 S Main St Clintonville) No Boundaries Nutrition (35 S Main St Clintonville

Q)  What time do you need to be at the starting line?

A) The race will start at 8am sharp! :)

Q) When/Where is Race Packet/T-shirt Pickup?

A) Packet Pickup will be 9/24 from Noon to 6pm at No Boundaries Nutrition (Main St Clintonville) or at Olen Park on the day of the Event from 6:45am-7:30am

Q) Why are you doing a 5K this year?

A) This is a fun event to bring the community together and it will also help raise funds for the Wise Guys and Fearless Females Programs

Q)  Who do people talk to with questions?

A) E-mail Justin Zoellick at jzoellick@clintonville.k12.wi.us

I’ve also included an article that was written a while back from a fellow publisher who also has some helpful tips for preparing for a fun run.
