What's Happening This Week

Find Your Family Fun in Clintonville, Shawano, Gillett, Antigo, Marion and surrounding areas!

By Marie Vandenberg, Publisher/Editor Macaroni Kid Clintonville, WI April 2, 2022

We have just entered April.  As much as Mother Nature seems very confused, we are solidly into Spring.  Prom is coming up, Spring Concerts, performances and so much more!  We have Easter happening in just a few weeks and some of the little ones will be making their First Communions and our older ones will be graduating and leaving the nest and so many more are getting wiggly and ready for summer!  (It doesn't matter that it's still snowing out.)

I spent this last week entering Easter and National Library Week events.  I'm sure that more will be getting entered as time goes on.  So check the calendar and the Easter Guide often.

As I mentioned earlier, this is a time of transition for many people.  When I was younger, I had many friends move away during summer and I lost track of them for good.  When we moved last year, as often as we are still in the area, my kids still lost touch with a few of their favorite friends.  I printed some "play-date" cards and sent them with the kids on the last day of school, but it wasn't early enough.  So, I re-designed the play-date cards a few weeks ago and made them an exclusive item for Macaroni KID Clintonville subscribers.  They're still free, but this way, no one will miss the fun calendar of events that gets e-mailed each and every week! And there is something really cute about a 2nd grader saying "Here's my card."

Something new is happening on May 1st.  (I know, we just hit April 1st), but I want to make sure you can get the 10% discount and get this on your calendar.  The Greater Shawano Area Drug Court and Shawano Leadership have teamed up to organize the First Annual Recovery Celebration and Awareness Walk.  This is 100% family-friendly.  It's also serving a very important need in our area.  There are so many people whose lives have been touched by addiction.  This is one way to celebrate the journey!  I'm very excited that they reached out to me to help spread the word.  It'll be at Franklin Park and they have so much planned. Be sure to bring your walking and your dancing shoes - they have a DJ!  The walk is a 1.25-mile walk, it's completely optional, but the money from the registration fees will go towards those resources and help keep those who are recovering from relapsing.  It's not an easy journey.  But, together, we can help make it a little easier.  Remember, we're stronger together.  There will be a Resource Fair - so all the resources will be in one spot, including support for family members.

So, let's take a look at the calendar of events to help you plan ahead.  Be sure to watch the Family Fun Calendar for 🐰and πŸ₯š.  These are Easter Events.  You can also find them in the Easter Guide.
