Memorial Day Weekend has generally become the "kick-off to Summer". It's a great time to spend with family and friends and start getting ready for the end-of-school and summer fun. Memorial Day is also a great time to reflect on the freedoms that we enjoy. As we very often forget "Freedom isn't Free". All Veterans have at one point written a blank check to the United States of America for an amount up to and including their life, whether in peacetime or war. This is the time to remember those whom the government cashed in that check. I hope that you spend time at the parades and ceremonies. Enjoy the time with your families. I really hope that you take some time this summer and visit The Highgrounds.

Anytime and worth the drive
A very special place in WI started out as the Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans Memorial Project. It is now The Highgrounds Veterans Memorial Park. It has grown to be the Nation's leading, largest, manned Veteran's Park. It is free to the public and open 24/7/365. There is a Gift shop and Museum that are also available and will give individual or group tours. It is truly a wonderful place to visit. We were able to attend several years ago during one of the honor stone ceremonies.
Here are a couple of ideas to help celebrate Memorial Day with your families from previous years.
