This week kicks off the first week of fall. Some of the leaves in the area have started changing already. The temperatures dropped like they were traveling on 45 at rush hour and spotted a state patrol car.
Some of you might be aware that I'm on the Onward Clintonville Committee. We're having a meeting on Monday that I think many community members would want to attend. We'll be doing a walking tour of downtown and doing some goal setting. Monday's meeting will be a little earlier than usual so hopefully, you'll be able to attend. For planning purposes, I don't bring my own kids to these meetings. Onward Clintonville is a separate entity from the Clintonville Chamber and the City of Clintonville, but you will see employees of both at the meetings.
We are working on our own Fall Fun here at Macaroni KID Clintonville - Shawano - Oconto - Antigo! We are bringing back the Boo Baskets! We are actively seeking sponsors to make it a success! As soon as we get our sponsors, we will start accepting signups! Please help us spread the word about this fun community event!
We are also working on our Fall Family Fun Guide! We want to be able to put all the Fall Family Fun in one spot. One spot whether you're looking for apple-picking, hayrides, fall family photographers, roadside pumpkins and apples or pick-your-own and so much more. If you have a favorite place, let them know that I'd love to be able to spread the word. With my boundaries changing earlier this year, there is still a lot that I haven't heard of yet and could use some hints. We're not limited to just Fall Family Fun at this point. You'll want to mark your calendars - The Clintonville Firemen's Association is doing its famous fish fry next week. Remember, that means there will need to be some road closures to accommodate the traffic. Clintonville Utilities and Clintonville Ambulance and Clintonville Farmers Market have all teamed up to cover a few things all at once - Farmers Market for the fresh veggies, baked goods, and coffee. The Utilities Dept will be hosting their Touch-A-Truck again this year. Meet the different divisions that keep the town running smoothly and see the equipment that is used. Then after all that - stop by Clintonville Ambulance and get a delicious spaghetti dinner complete with salad. It should flow similarly to last year. No roads will need to be closed. You'll need to enter the back parking lot of the ambulance garage off of Anne St. And feel free to walk up from the Touch-A-Truck event. They are accepting pre-orders now already.
One more event that you'll want to make note of - Clintonville folks- The Clintonville Police Department is doing their Badges and Bulls Eyes event on the kids' first full day off! Signups are happening now! There's something uniquely satisfying about shooting a bow and arrow and listening to the bow hit its mark. This is also one of those skills that can follow a person all through life. As much as I loved playing volleyball and softball in middle and high school, this body isn't such a fan anymore, but I can still shoot the arrow that I learned how to do back in high school. But, I didn't have a member of our local police department teach me! This is one of those memories that will stick around for a long time too.
